 Rules

Last edited: February 6,2010
You will receive two warnings for breaking the rules. On the Second warning, you might be suspended from the site for a month. Upon the third, you will be expelled from the site.

.:Out of Character:.

1. Keep netspeak (u instead of you, 2 instead of two and so on) to a minimum. This is a roleplay site, after all. If you can type out full sentences for an rp post, why can’t you type out a full ooc sentence?
2. Keep swearing to a minimum. Just because you play a dark character doesn’t mean they need to swear all the time. Find a more creative way to express your feelings then swearing.
3. Rp posts must be at least ten sentences long, no exceptions. If you post less, you will be asked to edit you post. This limit is to give people enough to play off of. There's nothing more frustrating then making an effort to post and then having someone half way attempt a post and leave you with little to go off of.
4. Absolutely NO Godmoding. This means that your character knows everything and knows things they had no way of knowing.
5. Absolutely NO Powerplaying. This is saying that another person’s character took a hit, even if they didn’t acknowledge it and so on.
6. If you apply and then don’t log in for a month, your character will be deleted.
7. If you don’t log in for three weeks without absence notice, you will be removed from your herd. After two months you will be deleted from the site.
8. If you hold a rank and do not log in or post for two weeks, without excuse, you will be deranked.
9. You may not have more then 10 characters. It is next to impossible to keep this many active. Any more is just ridiculous.
10. Do not start a new thread and then just put "coming" or something. At least post half of the thread. There is no reason to post an empty thread and then wait a day to post. Just wait and post. This does not mean that you can’t notify people you’re on a thread with of a delay.
a.    When responding to a post, do not respond with an empty post script. This stops other people being able to post in a thread, especially when you say you intend to post on a thread thats only just been made. The character has put effort into their post, you should be able to put effort into yours. If you would like to post, please leave them a note on the thread stating you would like to join, but other people can skip you until you get there.
b.    Some of us do like to post our postscripts as we are work on our post. You may post your script, but you MUST put your post within one hour, or your empty postscript will be deleted and you will receive a warning.

11. Do not put a word count at the end of your post. We view that as bragging.
12. You MAY NOT have a god for a parent. The only decendents of the gods are the Valkries, Daughters of Ares. They are not playable by people at the moment. They will be offered as rewards later on.
13.Remember internet safety. DO NOT ask for or give out phone numbers, real names and other personal information. Anybody caught breaking this rule, even jokingly will be ban for one week, even if this is your first offense. We take the comfort and safety of our members seriously.
14. Respect everyone on this site. Do not harass people. This includes chasing one person's characters, berating or insulting members out of character, throwing a fit because of a choice another person made for <i>their</i> character. (etc.)
15. In regards to rule 14, if we feel a member is causing a problem by generally making a nusiance, a pest or whatever of themselves, the seven admins will take a vote whether or not to allow the person to remain on the site. If four admins agree to boot the person, it will be done.
13. The site owner, Jewel, reserves the right to add rules, boot people, promote, or derank people as needed.

.:In Character:.

The World
Elysium exists in the world of Asteria, which has nothing to do with Earth. Humans, elves, dwarves and gnomes are the common races in Asteria. There are other mythical creaturs roaming the world, such as dragons, gryphons, demons, centaurs, gods that will come into play and one Phoenix. Guns, cars and most modern things do not exist in this world. Keep in mind that though alot of things on this site have Greek influence, they are not connected to Greece in Roleplay. They merely reflect the site owners love of Greek Mythology.

Claiming
1. If a herdland is unclaimed, you may appeal to the Duke or Duchess of the respective alignment at the land itself.
2. Stallions or mares may claim land.
3. Herdless horses should go to Wryda Valley or the Pleiades Highland, where they will be invited to join a herd any member of the herd, but normally a Lord or Lady.
4. Horses are to dwell in one of the herds of their alignment, or become herdless rogues.

Powers
While this is a mythical horse rp site, there are some things that just won’t work.

1. Last time I was on a mythical horse rp site, there were a lot of ‘cannibal’ horse characters. These people mixed up ‘cannibal’ and ‘carnivore’. Cannibal means you eat the flesh of your species. Carnivore means you eat meat. If you are a cannibal and try to eat another player’s horse, it will be treated as attempted murder or murder and punished as so. You can be a carnivore if you really, really feel like you must.
2. You may not have all-knowning powers. You are not a god, so don’t try to have the powers of one.
3. No horses with all-healing powers. You may heal wounds and such, but there are some wounds that just can’t be fixed. It’s the will of the Goddess.
4. I reserve the right to ask you to down-grade your power if I feel that it is too much. This will most likely not happen, but you never know.

Breeding
1. Breeding must be done in the Venus Thickets.
2. Birthing must been done in Willow Park.
3. The person playing the foal must post it’s name, gender and parents on the update board so that it can be added to the birth records.
4. If you do not wish to play your foal, please still post information in the Update board, so it can be added to the Birth Records. If you wish to donate it to the Adoption page, please indicate so on the Update board as well.
5. Foals are to be born one month after breeding.
6. Breeding may happen anytime your characters feel like getting frisky.
7. Rape is a crime and will be treated as such. A stallion from the victim’s herd may challenge the offending stallion for the mare’s honor. In some cases, he might be confined to the Mordren caves, or even put to death.
8. Sentinels may not breed.
9. Graphic Breeding is forbidden. This is a family show, so please take it to messages if feel you need to get graphic. Please just fast-forward through the 'act'.
10. Herd leaders may rule on what herds their Broods and Studs breed with.
11.Polygamy is encouraged, as this is a horse site. There are certain instances were monogamy is fine.

Challenges
1. All challenges must take place at the Phoenix Meadows.
2. Stallions may challenge for mares and positions every two weeks. They may challenge for more then one mare, if the mares are in the same herd, but no more than two mares at a time.
3. Mares may challenge for orphan foals, stallions and positions.
4. If a herd only has one leader, they maybe challenged by anyone male or female. Example: If the Forest is ruled by only a mare, a stallion may challenge her.
5. Challenges are allowed a maximum of six posts. The King or Queen will then judge on content. Grammar, relevance, and hits given/taken will be counted as well as over all content. Remember, it’s content, not length we’re looking for. You are to complete the maximum number of posts.
6. You do not make up the rules for Challenges. I do. Unless it is a special circumstances with a plot, then they must be approved by me.
7. If the challenge is not answered within three days, the Challenger gets whatever it is they challenged for.
8. There may only be a three day gap inbetween posts. If not responded by then, the challenge will consider won by the last poster.

Battlelands
Battlelands are a unique feature to Elysium. There are three Battlelands: Catheisan Hills, The Mallenor Ruins, and Raccal Swamp. Each one is different and has a different property. When someone claims a battleland, it belongs to his or her herd. It falls under the control of the Herd Leaders.

1. An unoccupied battleland may be claimed by any herd member for their herd.
2. Only King, Queen, Lord, Lady, Precept, and Marshal may control/alter the magics of the Battleland. Though, the King and Queen won't have much to do with theses lands due to orders from the Queen of the Gods herself.
3. Fights over a certain battleland must be fought on that land with at least two members from each herd.
4. The matters of who occupies the battleland should be settled in character, but an administrator from the rank of Colonel up will give out of character confirmation on the thread.
5. If an admistrator has a character on a battleland fight thread, they may not give out of character judgement.
6. Each character on a battleland fight thread must post at least three times.
8. If you are confused about how any of this works, please ask an admin.

Royalty
1. Those of royal blood that take up the mantle of Priest or Priestess may not claim the Throne of Elysium. They may either abdicate in favor of the next in line, or renounce their priestly ways.
2. In the event that the reigning Ankhran monarch fails to produce foals and they have no siblings of Royal blood, the oldest foal of Saphira’s line will take the throne.
3. If the Ankhran line fails completely, a regent should be placed on the throne and a Council of Lords called to select the next Monarch.
4. Royals may breed with whom they please, but their foals WILL NOT be given any title of royalty. Nor will they be recognized as being part of the royal family. They will be considered equal to any other herd born foal.
5.  The favored mare/stallion of a royal might be given the rank of prince or princess.
6. All royal ranks are given solely by Jewel. Annoying the player of a royal annoys Jewel. If Jewel is annoyed, no rank for you.

Priests
If you wish your character to be a priest, you may ask in character when someone comes to greet you in the Claiming lands, or you may ask an admin to have a god come to your character to ask them to serve the gods.

1. Priests should only breed with other priests.
2. Priests shall live in Windsong Glade, except for Star Counsel.
3. Star Counsel shall dwell in Aiedail Forest so as to be near the Royals to be on hand to give advice at a moment’s notice.
3. Star Counsel’s apprentice shall be in charge of the priests within the Glade.
4. Star Counsel Apprentice will take over when Star Counsel dies.
5. Star Counsel Apprentice is not an applicable position. It will be chosen from among the priests. The Admins and Star Counsel’s player will decide who it should be. To ask for this position is the insure you don’t get it.

Remember, it takes more creativity to play inside a certain set of rules, not just this site's, then out of them.
